Frigidaire Gas Range Recall — Burn Risk (March 2026)
What’s Being Recalled
On March 19, 2026, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Electrolux Group issued an official voluntary recall covering certain Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery, and Frigidaire Professional gas ranges. Approximately 174,800 units were sold in the US, with an additional 5,300 sold in Canada.
The defect involves delayed ignition of the oven’s bake burner. Gas can accumulate in the oven cavity before igniting, creating a flash burn hazard. As of the recall announcement date, Electrolux had received 62 incident reports in the US, including 30 burn injuries.
Stop Using the Oven — The Cooktop Is Still Fine
If you own one of the affected models, stop using the oven immediately. The CPSC confirms that the surface cooktop burners are not affected and can continue to be used normally while you wait for the free repair.
